Membership Categories

Active Membership is open to individuals currently employed in the field as an activity director, co-director, assistant, or consultant.

Currently our membership includes Activity Professionals in long term care facilities (including Nursing Homes, Homes for the Aged and Chronic Care Units in Hospitals), as well as Day Care Centres and Retirement Homes.

Associate Membership is available to individuals having an interest in the activity profession but not eligible for Active Membership. Examples are health care aides, volunteers, administration, and students.

Corporate Membership applies to suppliers that have equipment or educational resources that are appropriate to the activation field, long term care facilities or organizations.

Membership Benefits

Active Members benefit from the following:

• Active voting members in matters of the Corporation
• Eligible to sit on Committees, Executive or Board
• Receive Newsletter four (4) times per year
• Receive "Activity Awareness Week" packages annually
• Receive reduced rates at all Workshops and Conventions
• Eligible to participate in Awards of the Corporation
• Receive password for "Members Only" section on the website

Associate Members benefit from the following:

• Are eligible for reduced fees at Conventions and Workshops
• Receive Newsletter four (4) times per year
• Receive "Activity Awareness Week" Package
• May participate in Activity and Mentor of the Year Award
• Are not eligible to vote in matters of the Corporation
• Are not eligible to sit on Committees, Executive and Board

Corporate Members benefit from the following:

• Does not provide Active Member status
• Are not eligible to vote on matters of the Corporation
• Receives a Current Membership listing
• One representative from the Corporation receives reduced fees at Convention
• Receive special rates and advertisement in the Member Newsletter and website
• Receive Newsletter four (4) times per year
• Receive reduced exhibitor fees at Convention
• Receive a free link on the website

Membership Fee

The membership year is from April of the current year to March of the following year.
